Andy Sahn
Foreman
Originally hailing from New York, Andy has been working in the field of sustainable construction since 2011. He embarked on his journey by diving into the world of natural building, spending a few years learning and working on cob and straw bale homes on the west coast and in Austin, TX. In 2013, Andy moved to Nashville and started his own natural building company called Earthen Home, which focused on using local and sustainably harvested materials with projects including greenhouses, pergolas, and small homes.
Since moving to Nashville, he has expanded his knowledge of conventional construction which has allowed him a greater understanding of where the two worlds of natural and conventional methods and materials thread together. This continued learning led Andy onto a deeper path of understanding the world of building science.
In 2022, Andy spent the year building a home for his family and was able to put a lot of learned theory into practice. He and his wife designed and built the home, frame to finish, a truly rewarding process. The home now stands as a testament to utilizing good design and thoughtful execution in achieving their sustainable goals.
Andy is excited to be bringing his knowledge of systems and materials to Terra Southeast high-performance builders.
