Asa Porter

Asa was born and raised in Northwest Alabama in a family of eight. Growing up, he spent his time between farming, working on various construction projects, and exploring the surrounding woods with his brothers. Through time with his grandfather in the wood shop, he gained an interest in the process of design build.

Over the years his work experience has led him from architecture, to airfare and power plant maintenance, to running his own construction crew. In 2023, with a small construction team, Asa built a home in Rome, Georgia. This experience led him to working for Open Architecture Practice, where he hopes to continue his understanding of high performance building.

Asa holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Auburn University. He loves to spend his free time backpacking, running, sketching, and playing music.
